Sometimes you just have to escape from everyday life, and what better way than in the pages of a book or on the couch binge-watching a show or a movie that two queer people recommend?

In this biweekly podcast, book reviewer, Tara Scott, and award-winning author, Kris Bryant, discuss queer books, movies, TV shows, and graphic novels, and narrow down selections for listeners. Grab a glass of wine, dram of whisky, or cup of coffee and join them as they suggest to you, the listener, and to each other, something wonderfully queer and inspiring to check out.

Meet Kris & Tara

Kris BryantMulti-award winning author Kris Bryant was born in Tacoma, WA but has lived all over the world and now considers Kansas City her home. She received her B.A. in English from the University of Missouri and spends a lot of her time buried in books. She enjoys hiking, photography, spending time with her family, and her famous dog, Molly.

Her first novel, Jolt, was a Lambda Literary Finalist. Forget Me Not was selected by the American Library Association’s 2018 Over the Rainbow book list and was a Golden Crown Finalist for Contemporary Romance. Breakthrough won a 2019 Goldie for Contemporary Romance. Listen won a 2020 Goldie for Contemporary Romance.

Tara ScottTara Scott taught herself how to read when she was four years old and she’s had her nose stuck in a book or e-reader ever since. Although she typically reads a lot of contemporary romance, she’s been finding joy lately in reading queer science fiction and fantasy, as well as the occasional non-fiction book. She lives with her family in Calgary, Alberta.

Tara is a regular contributor at Smart Bitches Trashy Books, The Lesbian Review, and Lambda Literary, and a former contributor at Curve Magazine. She’s also the former host a Les Do Books, a biweekly podcast where Tara interviewed authors and other reviewers about their love of lesbian fiction.
